Scottish recipe -Tattie Scones.




INGREDIENTS:

1 lb mashed potatoes.
4oz plain flour.
Salt.
Butter for spreading.

METHOD:

Boil, then mash the potatoes until smooth, adding a little salt. Knead with flour to required thickness.
Cut into triangles.
Brown both sides on griddle or in frying pan, pricking with a fork to prevent blistering.
Serve hot, spread with butter.

BB can you add veggies to this. im craving potato scones with corgettes i may have invented them CP

I don't see why not, cp. If you cook the veggies first, chop them into wee pieces, then add to the mashed tatties before kneading and shaping. It sounds yummy!

This sounds YUMMY! I have to make some mashed potatos so I can try this!

Have you tried sweet potatos in this recipe? I happen to have some leftover sweet potatos right now.....

I've never tried making them with sweet tatties, Nancyjane, but I'm sure it would work fine, just a different taste. Why don't you try it and come back and let us all know what they were like?
